Social media is no longer optional for law enforcement agencies, government organizations, or anyone who communicates with the public. It is one of the most powerful tools for building trust, shaping perception, and sharing your story before a crisis ever occurs.
This fast-paced, one-day training is designed for public information officers, social media managers, and leaders who oversee public messaging for an organization. Participants will learn how successful agencies use social media proactively to strengthen relationships with their communities, manage misinformation, and amplify their message beyond their own platforms.
The course focuses on practical social media strategy, real-world examples, and how to work effectively with traditional media to extend reach and credibility. Attendees will leave with clear tactics they can apply immediately to improve confidence, consistency, and impact in their public communications.
Topics include:
Spend the day learning from Chief Christopher Mannino (Ret.), who has proven success in managing social media to build trust.
Christopher Mannino, a retired chief of police from the Chicago area, is an FBI National Academy graduate and National Policing Institute Executive Fellow who led his agency through multiple crises and critical incidents. He is now vice president of Julie Parker Communications and is an internationally recognized crisis communications expert.
Training certificates will be sent upon completion of the course.
