Build community relationships and trust by telling your agency’s story, strategically and consistently. This two-day, hands-on training is designed to help you move beyond reactive posting and develop a proactive, effective social media strategy.
The most successful government agencies use public messaging to build positive relationships with their communities long before a crisis occurs. Designed for PIOs and leaders who oversee public messaging, this engaging, fast-paced course takes participants through the development and execution of a strategic social media plan, while also integrating traditional media to amplify messaging.
Over two days, participants will dive deeper into both strategy and execution, with expanded discussion, real-world case studies, and practical application. Topics include:
Telling your agency’s story benefits both the organization and the community it serves. At the same time, preparing in advance strengthens your ability to respond effectively during a crisis. This course provides both the strategic foundation and practical tools to do both with confidence.
Instructor Christopher Mannino, a retired chief of police from the Chicago area, is an FBI National Academy graduate and National Policing Institute Executive Fellow who led his agency through multiple crises and critical incidents. He is now vice president of Julie Parker Communications and is internationally recognized as a crisis communications expert.
Training certificates will be sent upon completion.
